The focus isn't a terrible car necessarily, especially if you got it for cheap. American car resale is so shitty you can get some good deals. But if you want an economy car, you gotta go far east.

2 weekends worth of work and $5500 for a focus w/ 9700 miles.

Much easyer to find a honda banged up! Or any honda parts!! And they're great on gas!! My 1st one was like 40 mpg!!!!

not when ya know every nut and bolt on a car and find parts laying around the shop, they get fixed pretty easily. not really familiar w/ hondas

Understood! You cant beat that, but what you saved in the price was a known loss on resale! as well as a loss at the fuel pump!
at the time, i didnt know itd only get 28mpg. other wise i would have got a cheapass escort.

They've been talkin' about gas going over $4/gallon for the past three years now... I wonder if this will be the year...

We still get our gas cheaper than anywhere else in the world...

Shoot, mine is up to 3.79 already here in Eureka, CA!!! Diesel is 4.19 and its been over 3.50 for well over 2 months now. People always talk about S.F. being the highest in the nation, but drive 5 hours north and tell me again.
