Default Purely Hypothetical purchase related querry

If, for some unknown reason, I were to start looking for a certain "special" bike, how hard would I have to look and how much would I expect to pay? And where might I be able to acquire said gem near northern FL?

Bike in question is a Duc. 999

What level of 999 are you looking for? Also what year? The later ones have the 140 hp rating. (I have an O5 Bi-Post) are you thinking S-Type R-Type? There is a VERY big price spread between years and models.
I would also suggest that before you jump take a looks at cost for aftermarket options as well. A used exhaust will can set you back a grand. That said What a SWEET Bike to Ride!

I'm interested in just the base line 999 not the S or R spec from 03-04. The exhaust I'm looking at for my RC is gonna set me back about 1500, so the price of parts is not gonna be too different.

If that's what happens, then I won't be complaining. But it's gonna be a while before I actually bite the bullet. (The whole being on a different side of the world thing). I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row now instead of scrambling later.

Another problem is that I won't be able to purchase anything until NEXT spring at the earliest. That's the soonest I can foresee a vacation back to the states. And NY isn't that far away from VT, and I need to make a trip to VT when I do take leave in the spring...

Do you know how much he'll be asking?
