Better mileage tires? - Page 2

Well you asked but you won't like my answer!

Keep in mind I do mostly touring but I have been to the Gap a couple of times and Shady Valley on them too with no problems.

BT020's

16,000 first set
14,500 second
Third set only has 3,000 so I will have to get back to you...

I am jealous. Hopefully when I get my next set that are sport tourers, I will get that kind of mileage.

Someone posted good reviews on the BT021's too. I might try them next time!

Start to look into the sport touring tires. If you're not running on the track then these tires are plenty sticky for canyon/twisty carving:

Pirelli Diablo Strada
Metzler Roadtec Z6
Conti Road Attack

I'm looking at either stradas or bridgestones. Bridgestone seems to be the way to go performance per price at this point.

Yea I don't do too well with rears... shit or fronts for that matter. I got about 3000 from the BT-016s which is about average for me. Of course, I tend to throw tires away earlier than most....

I have the Stradas on my SV and love em. Can't tell you how they would handle on a liter bike though.

I just got back from 8 days at Deals Gap. I put a set of 021's on before the TWF Rally and then rode all this past week on them in the mountains. I didn't have any problems hanging with the race tire crowd and they still look good. Actually they don't look all that used. It is the first time I've ever come back from there with tires that were still good.
I got 5K out of the last set and probably could have rung another 1K out of them, but changed them out to have fresh tires for the hills. I think I paid $176 for the pair.
