Also depends how you ride......If you are clueless and ride your sportbike like a dirt bike (not hanging off..... Pushing the bike down while your upper body is still pointing straight up), then yeah you'll erase the chicken strips quickly. But you won't be very fast.

are 190/55 usually only in SS tires? i'd like some michelin raods or Sport Touring tires in this size.

Thats exactly what my sarcastic response was trying to say....Anyone that looks to the strips is not really a rider...

Really people, really...
Damn, smiley you are one of the guys I would love to ride with on this board, the intent behind the thread is just what the title says, it's not about impressing someone by not having strips but more or less the difference between the ease of getting there with the 190/55 vs 190/50 tire profiles. You have been around long enough to know the curves will separate the men/women from the boys/girls...

Also depends on geometry.......Someone who has dropped their front end or raised their rear end is going to have a different chicken strip than if they had kept their bike stock.

55s are not available in sport touring tires. I've looked.

Somewhere in this porn corrupted ECU of mine I have a picture of Doohan, Schwantz, Rainey, and I think Saarinen going thru a corner at a GP. The styles are all so different and the bikes lean angles are dramatically different and yet their corner speed would only have varied slightly...Doohan and Saarinen leaing their bikes over much further on the tire...

Yes, but they get ridden at the track so it doesn't matter.
