They stop the busses at -30 and close the schools at -40.
Last year the boilders at the school broke, luckily the busses did not run so we only had about half the kids. It was 2degrees c in the grade one classroom. We put everyone in the library, which is the warmest room in the school and fed them hot chocolate all day. We let jr. high call their folks to go home if they wanted. They got the boilers working, and that night they broke again, burst pipes in the gym and flooded it. No school the next day. |

It's funny but when I had my snowmobile or even my four wheeler, I would regularly go out in the cold and ride for hours but on a bike 50 is my absolute limit. For one thing, it's just to cold to really have any fun IMHO. You have to be ever mindful of tire temps/road temps and an innocent man hole cover could spell disaster! Ask me how I know...

It finally got up to 33*F so I "think" has melted off the roads.
I need to run out to get some lunch foods for work this week or I'll be hungry and miserable Even the dog doesn't want to go out |

Was about 32F when I got up this morning at 5:15, was icy as shit driving to work... worse part was that it was only in certain spots.
Left work about 14:45 and it was 40F, just raining. Thankfully the ice went away and hopefully stays away!!! |

The ice really fucked me today. I didn't make it to my Uncle's funeral because the roads were so damn bad. Fuck that.
