Had business in Charleston and I hopped on a Lemons race that happened the weekend before.

My mid corner speed was horrible, the suspension is just not working right there. However, I think I know what's wrong and expect to drop at least 3 or 4 seconds next time I go back.

There were probably about 20ish people there. It's run by the track itself and we share the day with cars. Just one motorcycle group and 3 car groups.

Troy...you should do the turn1 trackday the week before. No stupid membership fees. I plan on going the 13th with a better clutch and fixed suspension!
What I finally learned after this last Primdmore class on the track is to keep the revs near redline before downshifting for the next corner and get the downshifting down before braking. This way the engine RPM change is not that great when banging down a few gears. It also helps if the thing has been remapped because many of these engines stock are not smooth in the upper revs.

Lookin' pretty good out there Clay, CMP is a tough track to find a good rhythm on. Pretty sure this is the guy that passed you, said a 1:35.4 was his hot lap of the day. Guy is smokin' fast, note the wheel lift coming out of T3 :

Yup, that'd be Steve. I really like his line through the carousel. If I can get my setup right I'll be trying several tighter lines next time. I'll just be shootin' to get below 1:40's at my next run there. Brian Stokes ran a friggin' 1:32 on a 600 there last year... I have no idea how! 1:37's (winning expert pace last WERA round) I can see as doable... but 32's? DANG!

Oh NO, I haven't heard from him in MANY years. I still talk to Brian on Facebook some, he's about the only guy from the "old gang" I still keep up with.
