Anyone fancy a gnome powered cafe racer? Spose I ought to figure out how to throttle the damn thing eh? A name might help too. Def gotta leave more space for the front wheel next time but at least I know what the frame should look like

That's a radial, mines a rotary. Search youtube for gnome or le rhone rotary
Radial is still a cool ass bike though |

Ok its throttle time.
Initially I had envisioned the right side mount as a skate ring with ball bearings. The throttle would be directly attached to the engine's side and the linkage would use a spring loaded plate that spun against a wheeled plate attached to the throttle. This sucked on many levels. Fueling would be difficult, the throttle would be heavy, all the extra spinning parts would have a high failure rate, and. God only knows what the spinning force would do to the throttle action. Likely it would be at best inconsistant. The second plan kept the skate ring but had it attached to a fixed intake tube that nosed into the crankcase under a large radial seal. This opened up fueling and air filter options but kept a large failure point in the skate ring and would be difficult to impossible to take apart/service. So last night it hits me: I can simplify the whole shebang and make both side mounts equal in strength if I integrated the intake tube into the fixed crankshaft. Solves the whole damn thing as far as I can see. Gotta find some info on the airpaths on these things but I think this works I wonder if two stroke oil would provide enough lubrication for the engine and the main seals?
