FYI. Make sure to take a close look at the outcome pic on pg 9 and tell me if you see anything out of the ordinary.

Odd set of events. Him smashing into the back of a car is also why I don't feel safe riding on anything but a 100% tire with no holes or other bullshit like a $5 patch kit holding my life in its hands.

I still think this dude ran into the back of his g/f's car on purpose to try to ensure getting shit from Michelin.

Also did he ever check the tire pressure of the tires while hot?

He's saying the carcass is fine. It's just the outer rubber that's peeling off. From the pic of the rear tire, it does look soft. Only him and the spaghetti monster knows.

Yeh, it looks highly suspect to me too, if there was a major problem with that model of tire it would have piped up on other boards and b een a big thing. Since this if the first we are hearing about this, it less me to believe that the guy had some impact in the tire failure. The op stated he checks pressures religiously, even if he doesn't, it would have to be off by a whole lot to cause total tire failure, like by 20psi and sustained speed.

also the op stated he had tire issues in a previous car, this less me to believer that he had more influence than he realizes. my bet is that ambient air temperature and road temps have more to do with this than failure on michelins part. I would be that the tie was sitting in a fairly cool area, like as cool garage, them the transition from cool to hot, and the unequal expansion of the blocks vs the carcass is possibly at fault

I don't see how somebody could cause something like this to occur. He would have had to have them in a vacuum and been going 100mph.

It just baffles me. I don't see how it could be anything other than manufacturers defect..
