The revolutionary in me wants to say "Yeah! Fight the power!", but the Hank Hill in me can't get over the fact that... even though it's a foreclosure and not hurting an individual or family... it's still someone trying to take something to which they have absolutely no entitlement.

I just heard about this this morning.

I know two families on that block.

Emotions aside, the guy is a fool. If he had moved in, kept quite and been a good neighbor, he could have lived there for a few years. Maybe even gotten to the 7 year mark.

Because he is a loud mouth, he'll be out on the street and facing charges and a big bill from BofA.

Hank Hill is right. Theft is theft. People who take advantage of adverse possession don't give a crap if they're stealing from banks or from people who still own that house.

There's a couple in Colorado who left their house because the husband's job took him out of the the country. They still own the house, but some illegal couple took over the house with the help of some jackass lawyer and adverse possession laws. So they came back to a house they're still paying for but can't live in.

It's bullshit, regardless of who owns the house.

Things like this didn't present a problem for an officer. Officers had a tried and
tested way of solving problems like this. It was called a sergeant.

Yep, had a friend who had a house for vacation rentals. Rented it to a family for a month and it took almost a year to get them out.

Yeah, I remember the thread about the family in Colorado.
At least with a bank they have more resources to bring to bear against the squatter. Doesn't make it any less wrong, but it seems more like a victimless crime when it's against an institution.

Given the right circumstances I'm inclined to agree. But if Ed were to squat in the house across the street from me?!?!?! Well lets just say I don't want his low rent ass sharing breathing room with the likes of me and my neighbors. He'd flat out bring our values down like a republican senator's approval rating after an airport bathroom rendezvous scandal.

Now "D" and the kids? No problem with them squatting, but just leave Ed back at the OLD house

I'm "squatting" on my neighboring properties, both beside me (enclosed hidden in the woods from HOA) and behind me (taken over and planted seed and mow)

If I'm ever questioned, I've been on the land for 3 years now....I'm claiming it
