Default EBR Closes Down

Erik Buell has shut down operations. Sad.

Also in the news, KTM isn't going to make any more superbikes for the street... RC8 is gone.

No shit???? I always wanted an RC8R. That's sad. They keeping the Super Duke I'm guessing?

Yeah, their CEO just said they're too dangerous for the street. I believe they're also going to make a track only version.

I read the articles. They're trying to build a track only V4 bike for Moto GP I guess. Kind of crazy when the big Duke makes MORE power than the RC8R. Bad move on their part unless they were losing money on the bike. Not a good marketing move when the boss says their bikes are too dangerous for the road. I hate that whole save you from yourself thing.

Yeah, I'm sure there's some underlying shit going on that we aren't privy to... CEO's don't routinely come out with this sort of shit without some thoughts regarding future marketing... I suspect you're right and sales suck for the RC8 so they're trying to save face a bit...

Probably. I'm typically a big super naked fan, but I've always wanted an RC8R. Might be worth picking one up before they become a collector item. I like the all white with orange accents. And they're decent on insurance too.
