I was out in Colorado a few years ago and they were selling 85 octane gas as regular... who the fuck uses 85 octane?

Living here in the Midwest I see the E85 fuel at alot of gas stations... Now this trip to Co was maybe 3 or 4 years ago, so my memory maybe a little foggy but i dont remember this 85 octane as E85.. Maybe No Worries can fill me in.. he lives out there

Actually I just did some reading and 85 octane is for high altitude applications(Denver). E85 is actually 100-105 octane... You learn something new everyday.

Tell me about it. The county I live in is the Ethanol capital of the world or something like that. We have a huge ass E85 plant, I just don't know what the hell it is.

I guess because of the thinner air, you can use a lower octane? interesting....
regular unleaded is 4.17 a gallon here. but that E85 shit is 2.99..... kinda makes me wish i would have got a truck that could burn that shit. |

if your truck is relatively new, maybe you can use e85, without much hassle. i know alota hotrod guys said they had to change their tune up alil-its higher octane, but its also ethanol. check it out....
