one of the guys was talk'n about how he sent his viper in for some body work... and when his motor blew 3 weeks later found out it was swapped out as the numbers didn't match...

its a shame that ppl dont have the mech aptitude to do it themselves, or the time to gather the parts themselves and have it built near them.

instead they just throw money at a name, and sometimes the owner of that name is a fucked up crook and they get screwed

I'd be just as unlikely to play shadetree mechanic w/ an $80K high-tech supercar as I would to hand over my money and car to a crook.

I've driven a friend's GT-R, and it has PLENTY of power. I'd rather have a full factory warranty than more power than I can safely use.

Nissan designed the GT-R's ECU to be unhackable. OK, they failed, but it's not as easy to hack as most cars. I'd suspect there are a relative handful of tuners nationwide who really know what they're doing w/ this car.

that car is still fairly new, i was speaking in general. but like u said--even though its new it is already hackable....
