A Few Nice Bikes
I've decided to concentrate on good quality inexpensive bikes for the spring. The economy has made me nervous about jumping into anything more than 4-5 grand. Most people can come up with that kind of money, but I think the high-end stuff is going to be tough to sell for a while till bank money loosens up a little.
So, here's what I've aquired over the last few month's: I have a '93 Kawasaki 600r with 38xx miles on it. I've gone through the bike completely (body off, cleaned tank, carbs flushed, coolant flushed, new thermostat, senders and fans. NO RUST, NO CORROSION ANYWHERE! Except for a finger-length crack next to the right front turnsignal, the bike is stock and minty (say a 9.5 out of 10). Will Maryland inspect for local buyer. $2900 cash, or can finance some for local (with 100 mi of Baltimore) buyer. This would be a great 1st or 2nd (moving up from a 250 or 500) bike. I also have a '99 GSXR 600 with a smudge over 8600 miles. Not minty but good shape (driveway drops on both sides, repaired) and some minor corrosion issues (powdercoating on wheels is dull, some fasteners have pitting, paint has loss luster and would bother a neat freak; but would make and excellant day-to-day commuter because of the low miles and great mechanical condition. Tanks been flushed, so has coolant. New front tire, rear has about 3k left on it. Will Md inspect for local buyer. $3300 (kbb and nada put the ave retail between 31-3500...av miles is 20K+, but I deducted for cosmetics; I give it a 7.5 out of 10). I also have the 06 600 Kat (950 miles) that I'm looking to get $4300 for (stock except for Yosh Can and adjustable lowering link). (Pics to inquiries). Thanks OTB |
