They DID used to care about and take care of their employees. Back then you wouldn't have even had to think twice about whether you were going to get paid or not...it would've all been taken care of and the company would've organized fund raisers, golf tournaments, luncheons, etc. etc. all in your benefit. That's the worst part about it....is to see how much the company has really changed and how its part of a trend to say fuck you to the "little guy." Her husband, BTW, works for a large company too....and they took care of him immediately. FMLA only ensures they can't fire her.
