Garmin users: How did you wire yours up? Here is how I did mine
Just wondering how everyone else wired theirs up? I added the hard wires to my pre-existing fused and relayed accessory system on both bikes. I realized now that I could have easily saved myself a ton of trouble if I would have just looked up how others had done it first.
The following applies to both the CBR and the KLR I still have not cut into either bikes stock electrical system, except for the horn to provide a power signal for the relay. I wound up just going off the existing set of wires I had installed already, ran a new positive from the fuse box, and jacked into the ground wires I had already added behind the dash. Since the Garmin only uses a power and ground to supply the bike harness thats all I needed. I used a universal two prong plug so I can switch the GPS between bikes. http://www.twowheelfix.com/showthrea...highlight=plug
