Default Anyone have a compound bow?

I'm interested in picking up a compound bow setup. I don't know much about them though. Thoughts? Recommendations? Things to avoid? I've got my eye on a PSE Stinger package that seems to come pretty complete. Good/Bad?

Info much appreciated. Pics always welcome.

Regardless of what you buy, if you haven't done archery before or if it's been a long time... go to a b&m archery shop and let them measure your draw length, find a draw weight that works for you, etc.
Buying a bow that's properly set up for you makes all the difference in the world.
You might want to ping Adam. He picked up a Mathews Z7 a few months back and loves it.

With a package bow I'd go with a Bowtech Assassin. Whatever you choose, I'd seriously recommend buying from Hunters Friend. Your bow will be set up and ready to shoot. Their Tech and Buyers guides are must reads.

The key to it is having the same anchor point every time. Do that and you'll be killing arrows in no time.

Hunter's Friend is where I'm eyeing the nice PSE package, as well as one or two others. The suck thing with the BowTech is the restricted dealers policy. I've got two authorized BowTech dealers within 30 miles of me, so no internet orders coming this way. The two dealers want absurd money for all of their bows, putting the Assassin well out of reach.

Next stop, somewhere to get a draw length and weight check.

I've seen some super fucking nice Hoyt bows online, like the Maxxis and the Carbon Matrix. They're way outta my price range at the moment though. I've also practically jerked it to a damn fine girl on youtube who shoots a Hoyt in almost all her videos.
