Nice takedown, good recovery to half guard (keep your hands on his hips, never on his back), OH SHIT NICE MOUNT (stay low, Jesus man), keep moving your hips out, HAHAHAHA nice drag ref!!!, good armbar defense, never flatten out, way to keep fighting.

Not bad at all bro. Competition is straight-up a motherfucker though huh? So much different than normal rolling, even at an in-house tournament...hell, sometimes ESPECIALLY at an in-house tournament. The exhaustion you feel in a tournament is just unreal man...no way to replicate it except for actual fighting.

I did my 8th competition this weekend. Threw up before I left, threw up a bunch more when I got there, had to wait until 4 to compete on an empty stomach, hated my coach for signing me up, though of excuses to back out of it, wished I was just spectating got nervous about being nervous and anxious about being anxious. BUT I tapped a guy with one of my favorite moves (omaplata to bow-and-arrow choke) and I went a full round on a 4-2 match with a guy that placed at World's!!!! Its always hard, but always worth it.

Also, fuckin' white belts.

Yeah, I can pretty much identify everywhere that I went wrong... I was going for an ezekiel choke when I had him mounted and he was doing a good job keeping his chin down... I was over-zealous and was really trying to get under his chin... just when I did, he bumped and I had to base on my right arm, then he grabbed it and I continued fucking up... lol

Seriously though, after that shit, I realized I've never given 100%... ever... in anything. At the end when I turtled up, I was literally telling myself to do it for probably 20 seconds before I was actually able to. I was like, "ok now!"... then nothing... "uh, NOW!"... *crickets*... "NOW!!!" and it happened.

I was actually not nervous or anxious at all right before... I got shit for sleep the night before, probably due at least in part to anxiety... I was anxious all morning until the competition actually started, then I felt good. Squaring off with that guy felt good, then when I grabbed his leg the first time I had a big adreneline dump and totally blew my wad after that first reset.

Yeah yeah... we looked like a couple of monkeys fucking a football... I love watching the purple/brown/black belts go at it. It just looks effortless and soooo controlled. Me, I'm trying to force positions and attack the shit out of everything I see, rather than properly setting anything up.

Relatively, yes... lol.

I'm wearing clothes I haven't worn in 3-4years... bout to have to buy a smaller belt. Oh, and I lost 2.5lbs in 6 minutes on Saturday... weight myself before I left for the tournament and again when I got home, 2.5lb difference. Now, if only I could do that a few times a day, every day, without dying... I'll be under 200 in less than 2 weeks!
