One of the big selling points of the meshie I bought is the leather that its got on the shoulders and forearms for a little extra protection.

Yeah, mine does too, it's actually one of the nicest mesh jackets I've ever seen. It's a Cortech GX-Air.

I used to think Cortech was kinda entry level crap, but I bought a pair of boots from a friend of mine, and he had a GX-Air which he sold me for $50. I could wear that thing 12 months a year, and it offers amazing protection. It's the best mesh jacket I've ever seen, and I have worked in a couple different shops and owned four or five different mesh jackets.

Cortech is a lower price than the competition, but their quality is certainly top notch. And while they may not have the best style, their comfort and protection is right up there with high end gear. My GX sport is a very nice jacket for the price and it came standard with CE armor and double back padding (a removable pad inside the jacket and non removable padding sewn right into the outer shell). 360 and 8 in zipper included. I feel safe whenever I have it on and never fear going down and getting rashed. I did however purchase a high end leather jacket recently. You can never have to much gear and can always use a spare jacket.

[QUOTE=neebelung;426]So now that we know what we all pine for, what do you already have? What items do you love, and which ones do you regret buying?

Jacket - Textile: Olympia Armored
Jacket - Mesh:
Pants - Leather:
Pants - Textile:
Tourmaster Vantage w/ zip out insulated liner armored in knees and hips
Pants - Mesh:
Pants - Denim/Kevlar:

Helmet: one yellow HJC CL-12 , one green HJC CL-14
Gloves - Leather: Olympia Terminator & ICON Super Duty
Gloves - Mesh:
Gloves - Weather/Winter:
Olympia Gore-Tex all weather & a pair of leather cheapo's
Boots:8" all leather lace up work boots & Alpine Star S-MX5
One-piece suit - Leather:
Two-piece suit - Leather:
One-piece suit - Touring/Textile:
Two-piece suit - Touring/Textile:
Armour (i.e. Icon, Bohn, Alpinestars):

I got a killer deal on my Teknic jacket, I really like that and the Olympia is very comfortable for warmer weather. For cold weather I wear the liner out of the Olmpia jacket with the linered Teknic jacket.

Both the Terminators and super dutys are comfortable but I'd pick the terminators first.

The Tourmaster insulated pants are very comfortable and easy to put on even over my big feet ( with my riding boots 11-1/2 EEEE )

The only thing so far which wasn't money well spent was my cheapo leather thinsulate gloves. They're good to 40* but were also only $20 so no big loss.

Jeff
