Bitchin'! I love sidecars! Who do you race with, and do you pilot or ride monkey?

I wrote an article on a husband-and-wife sidecar team that was in the AMA magazine a while back, really opened my eyes to the whole circus.

I'm the smart one on the handlebars!! Been racing outfits since 1990 in different classes. Off for a race this weekend. Weather looks a bit crook though! Might have to put the wet weather tyres on.

hahahaha!

Actually they regulate traction. Some "monkeys" claim they can control the rig as well as the driver can. By weighting a wheel they can make it stick or make it rotate around, tighening or loosening the line.

Have you ever done the actual steering part?

I have tried both roles, but only on a "minihack".

Most physically challenging thing I ever did - even more than Kart racing (and that is a crazy amount of physical effort)...and flat out the most fun ever.
