probably trying to clear out all the surplus parts before the rumored 2011 1198 makes its entrance. that, or they are worried about competition from bmw and aprilia and are trying to move some marketshare to the 600 market

Possible... Maybe, they are tired of being a "boutique" brand and the newish owners are ready to see some real money!!!

On the serious side, some of those components are almost worth the entry fee...

I haven't ridden a middle weight Duc since the 748 BUT I have never been even slightly impressed by the 3/4 liter V-Twin... I know, here we go again but the story is told every weekend at the races. The middle weight V-Twin has never been able to hang with the 600s...and I can't ever understand why. You would think that the 848 would be kicking major butt out there!
