They must be. They probably didn't think it'd be as succesful as it was. Which sucks becuase there are shitty shows and movies where the star just won't fucking die, then you get badass movies like I Am Legend which needed 1 more movie and they kill off the main dude that was the draw to the movie.

Well in their defence, they stuck to the original story in "I am Legend." The good guy dies. They did the same thing in the Charlton Heston version "The Omega Man." The story just wouldn't have the same impact, without the sacrifice.

Sometimes a good story just has to stand on its own, rather than having anything good bled out of it in sequels. For example they should have just stopped after making "The Matrix", rather than producing two more shitty movies.

Very ture. Though the alternate ending made the movie all come together better than the original.

I blame the Hollywood Jews and George Bush.

I never saw the alternate, but I'm guessing that it was a 'happily ever after'? Sometimes the good guy dies and the thing about heroes, is that they only rarely survive the thing that makes them heroes.

When I die, I want someone to go on my facebook and put in the following phrase:

"I am risen again, I am Jesus or possibly a Zombie"

It makes a lot of sense in how the monsters think and why they act like they do. But it was a cheesy way to let the hero live.
