I know cops are human and can make mistakes just like any of us can BUT (and this is a huge but).....shouldn't a cop know the difference between his gun and his taser if for nothing more than his own protection?
this is my rifle this is my gun

If you look at the video after the shot go's off the Cops look @ each other like (ooopps in the Scooby voice) Still I agree FUCKED UP some thug/ not, that was fighting or just arguing with someone for whatever reason again / not, is dead cuz a Cop can't tell his Tazer from his Gun WOW, I know some cops and some are scary, the way they deal with people is scary to!!! At times its like Fuck you I'm God I don't get it!!!, we are all people! Even cops need to treat people with respect, if you can talk to the guy then talk him down,(Use MOAB/ verbal judo-something) why do you have to taze him, there was no immediate threat no gun or knife just some guy that didn't what to give the cop his hand so he could cuff him. Don’t get me wrong I also know some awesome Cops that treat people with respect and believe in their job's and are there to help, still a little girl has no Dad and that’s the real victim.

Tragic accident. However, the cop is totally wrong in this instance. I could see a second degree charge in this case.

It looked like a mistake. So it's not murder but definitely manslaughter. I wann see this cop prosecuted for at least involuntary manslaughter.

That is tragic but I have little repsect for those that treat cops like that. Accident by the cop.. YES. should the family be compensated... yes. Manslaughter... SURE by a trial of his peers.

But I got a huge chip on my shoulder for pieces of shit like those that were flocking the cops before and after that. They should all be thrown in jail for public neisance, disturbing the peace, and interfearing with a police investigation. Just taz all of them and cuff em all.

When will people figure out that cops have a tough job and have the short end of the stick. Now with POS with camera phones every move they make is analyzed by monday morning 1/4 backs.

For those of you who don’t know, and most wont, bart is extremely dangerous here in the eastbay whereas it’s the most convenient and cheapest form of public transportation. A bunch of young thug kids attempting to "terrorize" the trains and padestrians minding their own business is very common. My opinion, coming from someone who frequents the bart atleast 5 times a week in oakland and for living in oakland the past 2 years, is that these punkass kids were drunk on nye/nyd and started crap with someone innocent for the sheer excitement. There was a witness from the same train they were on posting on sfgate the day after it happened saying that the kids tried to steal a guys cell phone who was with his family. He refused to give up his phone, they jumped him in front of his wife and daughter and bart police was called.

But for the matter to turn into a race situation is bs. Heard one of the protesters claim "they" were being "executed" in the streets. Last study i read - 2 weeks ago - the single greatest cause of death for black males 17 to 30 was black males 17 to 30. So i would suggest "the community" looks to it's own house for primary causes ....we pay some of the highest taxes in the nation, and in oakland, a very large percentage of it goes to youth projects of one kind or another. Our crime rate remains one of the highest in the nation though these programs have been funded for years and just received another huge increase. Ftr, oscar grant had only been out of prison since september 23rd, so we hardly have evidence that he was "turning his life around." btw, google the stranger who disrupted mr. Grant's funeral today by screaming about violence. His name is otis duckett, and this is not the first media opportunity he's found at a stranger's funeral.

Oscar grant as only been out of jail for 2 months, has a history of gun charges, drug charges and assault charges. Had a baby at 18 with a mother with whom he isnt married to. What a great american citizen. Im glad my tax dollars are going to "help" people like this while im working my ass off 5 days a week only to go home in fear of getting shot by him. So now all of the sudden this thug has angel wings when he has been nothing but a liability.

Rioting in the streets, setting cars on fire, putting pedistrians lives in danger, making train stations shut down only to inconvience the common working folk is extremely uncalled for. This is why bart police and opd is so quick to draw the gun, because of the idiots running our streets. The only excuse they have is "we need answers"

funny and devious argument, that bart is "stalling" or "covering up". The has been convicted of nothing. His union rightfully got him a lawyer who's been unavailable to investigators. He quit, so bart can't compel the officer to come in. Bart is legally prohibited from commenting on personnel issues, even this one, both by state law and union contract. But you guys know this.

Why doesn't the black community organize similar marches when gangbangers kill each other? Most murder in that community is black on black. Why not organize people to flood the streets with posters and bullhorns demanding that the killer be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law? The code of silence (i.e., against "snitching") in that community robs countless families of justice. It pains me that so many young black men in particular lose their lives to gun violence and yet their killers are never pursued out of some largely misguided suspicion or even hatred of the police. Stopping the crime starts at home. Black kill black = nothing/stay quiet/just another statistic. White kill black = sharpton, jackson, and don't forget naacp up the ying yang. Just watched the news and people are screaming and hollaring that "too many of our brothers are dying"...ummm, tell that to your brother who just shot another brother. Stop gangbanging and act civilized and maybe you just might live another day.

Nobody was right and nobody was wrong.

It was an unfortunate accident at the expense of someones life..but these monkeys need to chill the fvck out with the race/opd hatred bs.
