Bend your knees, you aren't suppose to be standing straight up. You don't need ATV bars. You are reading too much shit on the internet and over researching it. I know 6'6" guy that doesn't have ATV bars and ride the shit out of some hardcore single track.

Exactly, bend your knees. You should allow your knees to bend with the compression of the rear suspension using them as shock absorbers. Your elbows should be bent to for the same reason. If you are standing on your bike with your knees locked, you fail at offroad.

Corners! They're not natural feeling on a sportbike when you start out. That and getting over target fixation almost caused some embarassing low speed crashes.
Once I got over that, its been golden. |
