I make a 32 oz smoothie though, so the regular sized blender works for me.
They aren't that big, probably 12-20 ozs. Somewhere between a coke can and a coke bottle.

I like different smoothies than my wife and this works out well cause she can make hers the way she wants and I can make mine the way I want.

I got one last year as a gift (gag as well I think) and love it!

I make a smoothie every single day for breckie. Works very well.

I've also made pesto and a pasta sauce in it.

Oh yeah that won't work.

Right now, hubby makes his at like 4 am, rinses the blender then sets it on the side of the sink to dry. When I get up I put it back together, make my smoothie then rinse it again. Then we wash it at night. It's kind of a pain.

I have an old Vitamix.

It's basically a stainless blender cup (replete with spout) fitted with hammermill blades, and a 2.5hp router motor as a base.

It also has a blade reversal feature for even higher speed blade/food collisions.

Something ridiculous in the hundreds of MPH, IIRC.
You got it.

I have the 5200.

My brother-in-law and I got into a debate on the merits of the Vita-mix (him) vs The Magic Bullet (me) over a few brews.

I was so convinced that I had to try one out. Once I got over the sticker shock, I had to concede.

Drop of soap in half-container of water, turn on for one minute, rinse.

What's the real advantages for someone like me? I have no problems with the magic bullet, does it crap out easily? I have had no issues with the blades as of yet, will they dull quickly? If it keeps performing consistently as I have been using it, I don't really see the need to spend 450 on a vitamix vs the free magic bullet I have that works great.
