This economic state is going to be a nasty one and I can only hope I get to look back and remember the awesome times I had while the rest of the world struggles to meet their commitments.
congrats man, you have the right idea. Get out and see the world..

My high school friend will also be meeting me up there this summer and we figure we will find somewhere exciting to live for the winter and maybe start saving up to travel the world. Between the two of us we have English, Spanish and French down fluently so we should be able to get around anywhere.

We had thought about trying to hitch hike around the world for 10k a piece.

What floods? There's bugs on 95% of the Earth's surface. I don't live by any swamps....

Assumations because of stuff he prolly read. That's just like anytime I mention living in La, people ask me about New Orleans and I don't have their answers, then flip out when they find out I haven't been there since I was 7 or 8. Or they try to make jokes about hurricanes, flooding, and swamps. There's none of that here either.

I live in NORTH Louzyanna, which is completely different than the south...almost like two different states.

uh, my cousin used to live in Chocowitiny or however it's spelled, right next to where you live. And the whole area got flooded about 9-10 years ago. As for swamps, eastern NC is fricking full of them. And bugs love swamps.

Choco is about 50 miles from me but I guess if somewhere floods once every 20 years it deserves a reputation for flooding...

Psst...don't tell anyone but Michigan is surrounded by water and is filled with lakes, ponds, streams, rivers, creeks that flood every year when the snow melts...in fact Grand Rapids (my old town) has one of the largest rivers in the country flowing through it. Oh and Michigan had some of the country's worst cases of West Nile disease a few years ago (carried by mosquitoes),as far as swamps go,there's nothing but farmland around here that I've seen. Of course,I haven't gone looking for swamps so.....
