What I learned today
We grilled up some burgers last night, now I usualy have my burgers very rare. So I eat the first burger and it tasted a bit funny, so what does tom do, h eeats a second one
Now I wonder why I wa sup this morning with stomach cramps and spent some quality time on the bowl. The cats were quite annoyed too since they were waiting to be fed, they kept comming in to see if I was ok Tom |

I do not understand eating burgers rare.
Ground beef should be cooked thoroughly at all times. |

Then you're doing it wrong. Sear them on the outside to seal in the juices, then cook them thoroughly.

Except hamburgers are made of ground beef so unless you want to experience something similar to Tommy you have to cook them all the way through. I'm not saying until they're black....I have just never understood how restaurants can even offer them half cooked. |

Because steak is made from one piece. The bacteria is on the outside when cut. You cook the outside. I love mine medium rare!!! Just melts in your mouth!!! Have never gotten sick from a medium rare steak. Hamburger is a collection of lots of pieces and the bacteria gets pushed into the inside. It's also handled more. You should thoroughly cook your hamburgers unless you ground it youself from sirloin. www.foodnetwork.com check out Alton Brown. "Good eats". he has a show on this very topic. |
