COBB COUNTY, Ga -- A Georgia Power employee working on a benefit for an injured co-worker is now in the hospital recovering from his own massive injuries.

Mike Hyde is one of the organizers of a benefit motorcycle ride for Kylan Warren, who was badly burned while working on a utility pole on July 15. On Sunday, Hyde was injured in a motorcycle accident on I-575 in Cherokee County. His wife was killed.

Georgia Power co-workers Tyson Heath and Roger Stapleton say the benefit ride will go on.

"We have to stay positive," Stapleton said. "We can't be weak. There are too many people depending on us."

The Kylan Warren benefit ride will start at Georgia Power's downtown headquarters at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The 70-mile ride will end at Ellijay Elementary School.

Sunday, Hyde was one of several people who traveled to Ellijay to visit the ride's end point. Witnesses say Hyde lost control of his motorcycle while on his way back home.

Family members say Hyde may lose his leg.

"It makes you question why bad things happen to good people," said co-worker and friend Tyson Heath. "We have to deal with it and pray."

Co-workers say Kylan Warren, who is still at Grady Hospital's Burn Center, is getting stronger. They say the support for this weekend benefit ride is growing, and that more than 1,000 people are expected.

Still, they're finding it hard to focus and prepare now that tragedy has struck again so soon.

"The prayers are being answered each and every day, not only for Kyland but also for Mike and his family," said Hyde.

As they pray for both men, co-workers say they'll get through this weekend's ride for Kylan Warren, then turn to what they can do for Mike Hyde and his family.

Anyone who wants to participate in the Kyilan Warren Benefit Ride can register at 8 a.m., Saturday at 241 Ralph McGill Boulevard in downtown Atlanta. The cost is $25s per bike, $15 per passenger.

Anyone who doesn't have a motorcycle but wants to participate can go to Ellijay Elementary School in Ellijay, where the ride is expected to end at around 11:30 a.m. and organizers will collect donations.
