Default 278.6mph Worlds Fastest Turbo Charged Hayabusa Streetbike

I like the 6th gear shift at 250mph.

At the Texas Mile, October 2010, Bill Warner of Wild Bros Racing goes 278.6 mph in a standing start mile, on a 650rwhp turbo charged Suzuki Hayabusa Streetbike. On board video taken facing rearward using an AiM Sports SmartyCam with in-video display of GPS speed. (sample rate of the in camera GPS does not allow recording of the top speed that was set in the timing traps)

That is just so amazing. I want to try for 200 at Loring this coming year. I know what it takes machine wise. I have the machine. What I don't know is, do I have the skill and resolve to do it.
I can not imagine what is it feels like get within a mile or so an hour of 280 mph. that is over 4.5 miles a minute.
I bow to you Mr. Warner

I totally respect the skill it takes to build and pilot a machine that fast... but the only way I'm ever going to go that fast is in something with multiple windows and the name of a major airline down the side.

That bike is begging for a trip to the Bonneville Salt Flats!

10 miles of groomed salt, waiting. He could get that thing up to 280+/- and hold it for about 2 minutes if he's got the cajones.

I ran my Busa up to 170 once, and wow. I can't imagine tacking on another 110 over that, but I'd sure like to try!

That's awesome !! I can't imagine going that fast on two wheels. It's actually hard to imagine it on 4.

Kudos to him.

Rick...good luck at Loring. Maybe...just maybe I can make a trip up and go with you.
