Add in a leather helmet, leather 2 stripe jacket, Snoopy Sopwith goggles, bitchin scarf and you have a badass look.

I'd also blast Take On Me

Good luck. I've been looking for an old school R60 basketcase to restore and they are near impossible to find.

On the other hand, if you want one that's finished and ready to go, there are a few out there, but they do command a premium price.

yeah, you have to know someone that has one to pretty much find one at a decent price. I wanted to restore one a few years ago and came to the same conclusion.

Eye of the beholder and all that...but....I can't get over the "Why bother? Just take the cage" thing when I see a sidecar set up.

Look at Homeslice's contractor thread.

Triumph has some great "retro" bikes with modern reliability.

Ok, I can't really say because I haven't ridden one myself, but I've heard that riding with a sidecar rig isn't very much like "riding" anymore. It completely changes the feel and the cornering capabilties.
Take that away and what's left? You're basically just driving a convertible car that you have to gear up for.
Sure, it's something unusual, probably exciting for the kids... but are you really going to enjoy it enough to justify that much room taken up in your garage?

true, and if a recent day retro bike w/ a sidecar came along i'd consider it.

but adding a sidecar is pretty expensive, easily $2-3k for a nice one.

much easier to buy a 'built' one, let somebody else take the hit.
