First, I'm just working for a farmer, so that half a million dollars worth of equipment is entrusted to me, but not owned by me.

We just have corn this year, next year it will be corn and soybeans.

The rig pictured we use to appy fertilizer for ourselves and custom work.

I'm a vocational instructor at a "Level 5" secondary school in Baltimore. I teach culinary arts and lifeskills to violence prone children who have been tossed out of the regular school system for violent attacks on peers and/or teachers/staff. Most of our kids are victims of sexual and/or physical abuse from family. Most are not living in the family home; they are either living in group homes, or are wards of the state because they are so unmanageable they cannot be placed in foster care.

We are a "hands on" school, meaning unlike in the public school, we are allowed to physically confront and/or restrain kids that are acting out. ALL staff are trained in self defense, first aid and cpr and safe methods of restraining violent adolescents. Staff is a close knit group.

Sorry, no pics allowed.

My wife and I also own a furniture/gift store, so when I am not teaching, I'm managing our warehouse and delivering furniture around the Baltimore- Washington area, updating our computers and network, or selling, installing and servicing POS systems to foodservices and restaurants.

When I have free time I buy and sell motorcycles for fun and profit, and once in a great while I actually ride one......but not often.

I work at NIST-National Institute for Standards and Technology. I am the Fire Alarm and Power Management Systems Administrator. I also dabble in contract management and implementation.

Basically I work hard to make sure your $$$ are spent in a wise and reasonable fashion. I am known as the enforcer-the guy that will backcharge a contractor for not following the contact.

I'm a glorified paper pusher, babysitter, and fireman.

My office:

Those of you I chat with often will hear me say I have to go to the shop. Here's the shop:

Our data center (aka the fishtank)

Inside the fishtank:

How many techs does it take to set up a server?

Sigh... Trying to get technicians to be tidy is damn near impossible. Exhibit A - one of our wiring closets:
