A terrible accident. Sound like a possible accidental discharge. I know , hard to "accidentally" discharge a firearm but I seriously doubt this l;little girl was shot on purpose. The parent s are to blame for harboring an suspected murderer and putting their daughter in harms way.

While it is a horrible thing to occur, I kinda agree with Rider. Even the article states the gun was fired during a physical altercation with a person in the room and the officer, not an intentional shot at the child.

It is extremely sad that a little girl was killed, but don't harbour a fugitive and things like that wouldn't happen.. ( for the most part) Sadly she was innocent.

But wait, hold on.

Say a friend of yours does a bad thing. A REALLY bad thing. And, you don't have any idea that this BAD thing happend. What happens when they come over to your house, stop by randomly because they don't want to get home and wait to get busted for that REALLY bad thing.

You've put your daughter to sleep on the couch because you don't have any clue that this [now] fugitive is at your house.

Would you accept being told "don't harbor a fugitive and things like that won't happen" after your daughter is killed?

it is what it is

the cop most likely didn't mean to do it
the parents prolly didn't mean to harbor a fug.
the family will sue and get big $
the bad guy hopefully goto jail
the cop will live w/ this the rest of his life

I agree with what you are trying to say except for one small detail....the officers had a lawful warrant to be there...and the occupant of the home chose to fight...to create a physical altercation at the door. Without that fight, the gun likely does not go off and that little girl is still alive today.

IF they did not know they had a fugative in the house, then they were doing nothing wrong and it's just a horrible tragedy. The fact that there was some sort of physical altercation at the door makes them look guilty. Cops announced themselves, had a legal warrant and the people chose to resist.

I still feel horrible for all involved, but don't think that the family is completely innocent.
