Well it's coming priority (allegedly) so hopefully I'll have it tomorrow, or Monday at the latest... so I'll just not respond till then. By then, I should have the item and have a response from Ebay.

I've bought and sold quite a bit on ebay and this has NEVER happened...dayum...that sux.

If they've shipped the item then I would wait until I had it in my hands...inspected etc. before even replying like has already been suggested here.

I'd then respond but no I would not pay the additional $$.

As far as the negative feedback...I thought ebay had changed their policy and sellers don't even give feedback to buyers any longer due to issues in the past when a buyer complained about something and possibly left the seller negative feedback.

I think they were trying to cut out the "tit for tat" feedback crap.

I haven't bought anything through ebay in a month or two so that's why I'm not 100% sure about the policy on feedback but they were supposed to be changing their policies regarding this.

Bottom line...I would NOT pay the $22...it was their mistake plus they should have informed you before shipping...period.

Cool, thanks for the advice. I think you're right actually, I think the feedback system IS different now, so the neg may not be an issue... (or I may be able to get Ebay to reverse it, if they do that).

Everything I have ever bought on Ebay has cost less for shipping than i was charged. Sellers inflate the shipping costs because they don't pay fees on the shipping only the final bid price. Dont pay the money and tell him to fuck himself.

They dont reverse feedback. Feedback doesn't really matter anyway, unless you just have an incredibly bad profile.

Yeah I've noticed that as well, but then on stuff I've SOLD, I've also ended up buying a box, some bubble wrap, etc... so while that cost might not be reflected in the price on the mailing label, it's still a part of shipping.

However, in this case, the item could be put in one of those flat rate $8.95 priority mail boxes, so they're just trying to make an extra buck (or 22 of them )

I just have so few ratings (since I don't ebay much) that one neg one would hurt my overall percentage a lot.

It won't hurt you, unless you have mutliple commonly occuring negs no one cares, you can respond to negative feedback anyway and explain what happened on your account.

Especially if you are just mainly a buyer.

However, once it shows up and you have it. Lets verify the shipping price. If what they paid for shipping is nowhere near what they are trying to charge you, then we'll certain leave them negative feedback. What they are pulling is pure bullsh1t.
