I saw a once next to my apt. At first I thought it was a big cat because who would have thought you would see a in Queens? I guess they made their way over from Long Island!

Then the longer I stared at him, and it stared back at me, I realized with his little bandit mask it was a . He was really cute too.

I am so leaving that last part alone

racoons and opossums are all over long island including brooklyn and queens. Between all the parks and cemetaries hey have plenty of places to hide out along withthe sewers.

They are scavengers by nature and an urban setting provides a good food source and aside from man no natural predators to contend with so they tend to do quite well in these areas.

Really?? Holy crap! It took me 27 years to finally see a racoon then?? I don't even know what an opossum looks like.

basically a giant rat, not sure if theyre around in queens, we had a lot of them in elmont but that was because we were right by the cemetary, you would see them splattered in the street because they just dont move when a car comes by.
