I usually leave the TV on in the background while tuned into the news while I cook, clean up, get ready for work in the morning, work from home, etc. I could see it maybe being on 4-5 hours on a week day, but that doesn't mean I'm sitting in front of it and watching that whole time.

I watch at least 3 hours of Fox each night.

While reading this thread I looked up and realized I was "watching" an infomercial for some leaf blower/vacuum. I'm terrible for leaving a TV on just for noise.

I get up around 6am and turn on CNBC. I'm rarely even in the same room as the TV. The Neilsen survey takers phrase the questions "Is there a TV on in the house? What channel is it turned to?"

Good grief... almost 5 hours????

Even as background noise my tv isn't on forore than 2 hours each day and even THAT is a stretch.

I watch 2 shows: "House" and "Castle" (cuz the chick on there is smokin'").
I also turn "V" on but I can't sit down and watch a full episode so far.

5 hours... Holy crap!

The panel members actually have a box hooked up that measures what they watch and how long.

Seriously?... If you are looking for a good book I think you might like this one.

Don't be fooled by my avatar I'm not an Obamaphile, he is a puppet and will probably be the reason for the first true American revolution once he collapses our economy. Hell in the last few weeks Fox has all but said they are the communication arm of the GOP. So much for fair and balanced. You should also check out this video to see how 'reliable' Fox is and how Jon Stewart (admitted not the most unbiased anchor) busts them out for sewing together footage to make there story better.
Video

Sorry for the rant I just like people to see both sides. I also watch Fox, but I take it with a shaker of salt and do some independent research before I form an opinion on anything they have to say.

Do the people they give those stupid monitoring boxes to do the same thing??
Me too especially at night. I need some kind of steady racket in the background to fall asleep.

I might watch half of that...in a week. That is including the TV's use as background noise (i.e. the news while I get ready for work).
