oh and it's slowly decreasing in both frequency and intensity as I get further away from the day I had my surgery... so hopefully it'll stop all together.... SOON!!!!

Do you put drops in before you go to sleep?

Lasik has been great for me.
I actually am way overdue for an eye exam. It's been ~6 years since my surgery and I think I may need a minor adjustment, but it could just be all this night work and bad sleep habits messing with things.

i had PRK done; my corneas were too unevenly shaped for Lasik. i don't regret it, despite the dryness i have now. it's mostly noticeable when i'm up late (i'm on call at the hospital, and it's dry as hell in there) or when i first wake up. i've actually learned when i wake up to keep my eyes closed, and then either grab some eye drops that i keep on the head of my bead or open my eyes slowly. i never would have thought that you could train yourself not to open your eyes when you wake up, but you can...weird stuff. if i do just pop my eyes open, my eyelids will stick to and literally tear my cornea (microtears - it's painful as hell for about 30 minutes afterwards).

so, other than searing eye pain, it was totally worth it.

i did need a touch-up on both eyes afterwards; got the left done and still waiting to do the right. the left is about 20/15 (as opposed to about 20/400 before), and the right is somewhere like 20/35 or so.

Lasik... it was killer. Stay calm during the procedure and feel free to curse when they plug your tear ducts... one of mine was too small and it took them about a dozen tries...

Halo, no halo for me... they told me that before I even got it done. The halo is from your pupil dialating beyond the scar tissue. My pupils don't dialate that far, so it was never an issue.

Lasik is awesome! had it done in Jan with no problems what-so-ever. The dry eye thing was only for a few weeks after as they healed. I had none of that at all after abut 1-2 months. It was money well spent in my opinion...! no issues with night vision either.

PRK I have heard nothing but horror stories about the length of time to heal.

I did it 4 years ago and LOVE IT! My really bad eye has regressed a bit, but not a whole lot, I may get a touch up, but I love being able to see.
