I wish that Tromix would still convert 5.56mm AK mags to use in Valmets. There's a Valmet M76 in a local gun shop that I'd love to buy but not if I can't find mags for it.

You might try Krebs Customs I have a had a couple of his pieces throughout he year and including a 308 VEPR that her converted to accept M14 mags,, I don't know the Valmet but as I recall there was a Galil adapter ( a sleeve as recall) that accepted m16 mags and allowed them to run reliably in Galil

The Galil mag conversion was crappy. Besides, I see no point in buying a Valmet or a Galil then use the crappy ass Mattel Toy mags.

I will probably be snagging one of the VEPRs that are being imported now, with an eye adding a Ace Folder HK rear sight and a Kobra.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Krebs never did any AK-to-valmet 5.56mm mag conversion.

I'm in Travis county (Austin). From what I've been told, the Williamson County sheriff won't sign off on NFA items. If that's true, you'd have to have a lawyer draw up a trust to bypass the CLEO signoff.
The Gun Store off of Buttercup Creek RD in Cedar Park Is a class iii dealership and the guys are really helpful and cool to deal with. |

Ah well, I'm in no hurry. Who knows, I might move back to Travis Co. when I buy a house. I'm just renting in Round Rock right now.

New holster for the Glock came in the mail:
It's a Remora Clipless Holster. It has a very grippy texture to it, allowing you to slip it in the waistband without the need for clips. I have a similar one for my S&W 637 (Sticky Hoslter) that I love. This one seems to be a little better in quality than the Sticky Holster and a little more grippy. There's a bit of kydex around the opening to make it easy to reholster. Price was quite nice as well. I've been using the Glock in a Kholster for the past few months, and while I like it quite a bit, it's a slight pain in the dick to get set up. Because of the hassle, I've been carrying the S&W more than the Glock. The clipless holsters are the way to go.

I'm not sure I'd be down with a clipless holster. What happens when you gotta piss or shiz or whatever?
I use a Kholster as well.

I wouldn't mind trying a clipless. If I have my shirt tucked in, then a clip over the outside of my pants is a bit of a giveaway and defeats the purpose of carrying concealed (unless I want to clip to my underwear).
