I'll be stationed here for 3 years. I have absolutely no idea where my next base is gonna be but I'm gonna try for Eglin/Hurlburt/Tyndall. I've got a surrogate family in Fort Walton Beach.

Swabbie in the middle of a bunch of grunts. 13 years Navy EM1 (E-6). Electrician's Mate.
Tours-Uss Flint (AE-32) 3 Westpacs (6-8 month tours) and various other BS. Uss Samuel Gompers (AD-37) 1 Westpac and a lot of fun. (Ship was half female) Naval Weapons Station Concord Ca. Security Uss Yellowstone (AD-41) 1 Med cruise and GTFO. Worst ship in the USN-stationed at the worst port-Norfolk VA. I always enjoyed being stationed in California. I miss it a lot. I never got as close to combat as most of you. We were in the gulf when Libya hit the Stark with an Exocet missle. Of course, being on an Ammunition ship-you can understand why we were so nervous. |

Back in the day 8-points were a bitch and a half to keep in decent shape. Only the front 1/8 was bordered, and no cover block would fit just right. Why it took them so long to come up with the idea of embroidering all 8 sides I'll never know, but the day I got my first was a great day in Marine Corps history.

Well now,
Been Army for 11 years, I'm now an E-7 as a 56M, but I also hold 42A and 11B Mos's. Airborne, Air Assault, plus a couple more of the cool boy badges. Served int the stan 2x, both sort tours than most, the first was hard, the 2nd was a cake walk.

All I have to say is
To all of you guys and gals. Combat or not, you are doing a job most of this wouldn't do and you literally end up standing up for the rights the rest of us love to think we are entitled to. While my short terms plans don't include the forces, I have been pondering AF for a while now. I still intend to e-mail ebbs with some questions and thoughts at some point. Im 24 and don't know what to do. |

Because women blouses normally button on the right. In civilian clothes I mean.... Dunno why they needed their uniforms changed though... All the females I've talked to hate it as they're used to the old way
