Oh wait, no matter what brand of exhaust you stick on them, they STILL sound like that
Thank you for crystallizing my thoughts exactly.

Not sure with the '06 models, but I know the difference in the '07 models is engine size.. the i model is 2.0l, s models are 2.3l.

Mine's definitely a 2.0l not the 2.3 I know that. Although....it was only 0C this morning and my car had a hard time starting. Not a good sign.

I like the current Mazda 3's; rented one for a week to drive up to NY last year. It's a great little car for what it is - a sporty econo, but that new one looks freaking UGLY.

Tracy's best friend just bought one recently. He calls it a Furby because it talks to him.

I still want another RX-8... the 3 is fun, but the RX-8 made me giddy to drive it (when it wasn't having problems anyway). Although, the mazda mechanic I talked to a while ago when I took my 3 in for service said the problems I experienced with it were related to those cars not being able to maintain proper compression in hot climates.. so finanical situation aside, I'd hold off on getting another one until they (hopefully) figure that out. But I'd love to have one in black or slate grey... and definitely a manual tranny this time.

That's weird that you had a Mazda RX-8 and like the G37. My wife loves the RX-8. She doesn't really know anything about it having a rotary but she comments on one every time she sees one. Literally every time we pass an RX-8 she'll say "Oh, that's a neat car." It actually became a running joke with us because she didn't realize she kept pointing out the same model car.

Great minds and all...
