I might be a bit higher than this, especially if I'm riding alone. Makes the bike a bit louder so I feel like people have a better chance of hearing me if they didn't see me.... really need to break down for that exhaust.

4500-5500 in 3rd gear for most city driving. Makes it nice when you want to be a hooligan. Drop it down 2 grears, dump the throttle and watch the front end come up.

Somewhere between 3-5. I really dont like hearing my bike scream unless Im at the track screaming with it.

I think usually 4th-ish, or as stated before, highest gear possible for best fuel economy. Even in higher gears, if needed, the R1 will get out of it's own way with a quickness, even without a downshift.

Lowest rpm doesn't always equal best fuel economy. My car gets the best economy at 20 over on the highway. And my bike gets its best milage from 3500-4500 rpm.

anywhere from idle to 11000 rpm.

for cruising/highway riding 3-4K is fine. The bike has enough power at 3K to pass anything.
