The R1200RT is BMW's Concourse class competition.

The wing is a little different than anything else out there. The wing competes between the sport touring class and the bagger cruisers. I don't believe it's a true sport tourer. It's seating is much more like a bagger, the k16 is definitely a sport tourer there.
The R motor I don't think is as sporty as the K16 and concours. |

In the training files, they do direct compares on all of them. But, their focus this past year was the wing. I mean , we went to Americade for heavens sake. I can't tell you how many wives told me they wouldn't let their husbands buy it, even though their husbands loved it, just because it doesn't have arm rests. /facepalm

The BMW will get some of the Wingers that want more performance though. The core wingers are like harley riders though, loyal bunch of folks. |

Hard core wingers retire to can-am.
There are those guys that will come to a show just to argue. All of us working have told wingers... "I'm sure Honda is happy to have you." |

We loved the wingers in Knoxville. They spent money and didn't mess shit up aka not like bike week in Myrtle Beach. Still don't know why Knoxville stopped doing the Honda Hoot.

I agree. Americade might make us want to slap people. But, if the worst part of it is dealing with old guys that make their bikes look like ferris wheels. Then sign me up! There are much worse annual events out there. Let's take Sturgis for example
