I don't need to understand a town like that if they are going to judge me based on nonsense.

Are these the small town values that dick heads are always BS'n about?
I now live in Midtown Atlanta and come from a small town that was sort of on the edge of country and suburbia. I found that people are much more judgemental in the city but becuase it is so big it doesn't matter because it is so big. If someone doesn't like you, then you have 5million other choices.

When I first started dating my girlfriend all of her friends questioned why she would go out with someone like me. She goes to a private university and most of them have very wealthy parents and they grew up in the nice suburbs or in cities. Also most of them are from up north like Chicago, NYC, Connecticut, MD, etc (infact my favorite game is "Spot the Georgia tag" at her school). But I'm not refined and they always brought up the part that I drive an "old" truck. Well by old I mean a 1998 Chevy pickup. They like me now but now that I have the inside scoop on all of them I can see how bitchy and backstabbing they can be.

Small towns had a lot of drama but at least people where more forward about it. If someone didn't like you they made it clear they didn't like you.

If thats the way Atlanta treats you then fuck Atlanta.
As far as I'm concerned that IS a small town.
Think tossing up a few skyscrapers makes you a city?
Fuck that shit.

Atlanta is more a gigantic suburb than a big city. At 5:00 the downtown goes dead. Of course, the same is true for most Southern cities (except college towns of course).

I openly admit that I do not understand big city living. I could never do it.
agreed, grew up in a small town, and while I lived in cities, I never enjoyed it. I do like smaller cities, like Halifax, Red Deer, and a few others, which are very, very small cities, but a place like NYC, LA, Edmonton, Toronto, just too big for me.
