5' minus space for the wheel wells. Anyway, I've fit 3 bikes in a truck bed, not all sport bikes, but its possible, just really tight.

Trailer does look pimptastic. I am always scared of a bike backwards though, I keep getting the mental image of the wind shield catching air and flying off. Not even sure if its possible.

Um.... I've hauled quite a few bikes backwards without incident. Anything is possible though...

I may still go back to hers 2' back from mine because I think that it looks cool! Because of the axle location, I really wanted to place the heaviest part of her bike on the back, so....

I always worry that it will "jump out" of the chock when I hit the brakes.... Of course, if that were possible then the same would be true of acceleration....

Back when I had the 5' wide open trailer with rails I did not use wheel chocks...just straps so that's why I initially wondered about it fitting with a 4' wide trailer.

Chocks are definitely the way to go.

Especially the locking chocks like these. I roll the bike in and it stands up by itself so I don't have to mess around with kick stands or whatever. 100% easier than regular chocks and 1,000,000% easier than without any chocks-been there, done that.

I'm really thinking about going with option 2. both forward, one bike to the front and one 2' back. It leaves a really nice spot for a strap, jack, tools, etc box.

I think I remember that happening to some guy on the old Florida forum I was on... Ripped some of the plastics off...

Reminds me of a Tredmill that folds up. Neat idea actually if you live somewhere with limited space.
