Default Are good dreams really better than bad dreams?

So Im single, and lately Ive been working a lot of overtime so I havent even been able to go out. But I keep having these dreams where Im dating these great girls, everyday hanging out type things. The girls seem to be different in each dream but the theme is the same. The dreams are realistic enough that when I wake up and realize I was dreaming, Im actually disappointed to be back to reality.

On the other hand Ive had dreams with the opposite effect. For example, in college I dreamed that I failed all of my classes and was kicked out of school. I was definitely happy when I woke up and realized that was a dream. During the Iraq invasion, I had a dream I was an embedded reporter in a USMC Stryker when it was attacked and I had to escape home while being chased by Iraqis (). It was a pretty good dream but when I woke up I was definitely relieved.

So my question is, it better to have a dream that scares you or otherwise makes you thankful to have the life you have? Or is it better to have pleasant dreams that have the side effect of making you disappointed in the real world?

I don't either is better. You need to have both to appreciate the other, as with everything in life.

I will take the good dream all day every day (or night). Screw the bad dreams. I had one dream where I was running through the woods like Sly Stallone in First Blood. I also did the leap off the cliff and landed in the big ass tree. I woke up before having to sew up my own arm. I felt like I hit the ground as I woke up. Screw that shit.

Maybe, but I'd much rather have the better dreams. While I appreciate waking up from the bad ones knowing that it was just a dream, I don't really enjoy the stress in the bad dreams and the stress doesn't seem to be worth it, even when I wake up and realize it was just a dream. I've had some fucked up dreams these last few days, and have NOT enjoyed them. I need some nice, relaxing sleep!!

I voted the first option but after reading ur post I'm sure abt my vote. U simply confused me.

I want nothing but good dreams. If tt means tt I'm dreaming of a threesome with chicks tt will never happen cause I'm married to somebody else. Then so be it. I want those dreams. Or the dream of me doing the hot teacher like all the kids get these days. Yea. I'll take tt too.

How does tt fit in with ur question?
