In addition to learning about woodworking in woodshop, you can also start on side projects, such as this high-powered coil gun, which is a portable, bolt-action single stage model with a 6-round mag. A coil gun basically works by using electromagnetic coils, in a linear electric motor configuration, to accelerate magnetic projectiles. I made a bong.

I wasn't high enough to come up with an electromagnetic linear electric motor configuration coil gun.

When I went home, it was still being used 10 years later. It was a beautiful knurled stainless steel 2 piece interference fit pipe.

Oh, in junior high I made a ring, bookshelf, race car.

In hs, I made a depth gauge, tore down and rebuilt and old Buick 350, and assorted projects on the lathe.
