Default Chest Protectors / Back Protectors...

My husband bought me a new item the other day, I got to try it out at the track on Friday. I love it. LOVE it... The back protector is zipped on, so there is no sliding around, my previous one would slip up as I put on the top of my leathers. This one doesn't do that.

I did remove the elbow and shoulder armor - my suit already has it. It's brilliant. WELL worth the money.

I been looking for a good chest protector, but this is the same as a lot of them I have seen. I took my chest injury to the lower ribs and nothing really protects that area of the chest.

That was my first thought when even taking the pictures...

I don't think I can tell you what a wonderful thing this thing is. I mean, the wide strap on the back protector is the same as my other one. But, the *problem* being female is the velcro straps go snug around the hips... then quickly slide up as my waist is more slender than my hips (if even a little bit). That means my back protector sometimes pokes me in the back of the neck Not a good thing, and doesn't happen with this

Very nice.

I actually picked one of these up:

And used it for the first time yesterday at Barber. Off the bike it pokes you in the neck a little, but on the bike it was flawless. I never even knew it was there. I like this one because it's a little less money than Dianese and it doesn't have sleeves, so it's easier to get on and off. My suit has armor in the elbows and shoulders that I am happy with. Plus this has extra padding protecting your kidneys and collarbones, and the kidney/collar padding is gel-cell armor so it will actually do some good.

They also make a womans version with specially designed strap that prevents riding up.
