i have never heard of this. i'll hafta try a spoon next time. that's a good tip.

my cheesecakes rarely crack because i make sure to bake them in a water bath and not open the oven door until they are done. as far as my knowledge goes it is moisture from the water bath that helps prevents cracking. i also make sure not to overbeat the mixture, just enough to blend the eggs. so far i have had good luck.

They aren't microwave safe and they're quite thin. You'll likely end up with a melted container.

I use ziplocks in the microwaves all the time.
