Missile Defense Staff Warned Over Downloading Porn at Work
8:00 AM - August 3, 2012 - By Jane McEntegart - Source : Bloomberg

The United States Missile Defense Agency has apparently emailed staff to warn against surfing the web for porn while at work.

Surfing the web while you're supposed to be working isn't exactly uncommon. Still, most people tried to avoid Not Safe For Work content while they're at the office. Still, some people apparently need to be told that downloading or browsing for porn while they're supposed to be working is not okay.

Bloomberg reports that the Pentagon’s Missile Defense Agency last week had to warn employees and contractors to stop using their government computers to surf the web for pornographic sites. The news outlet obtained a memo written by Executive Director John James Jr. and sent out to employees on July 27. The email warns government workers against the inappropriate use of MDA networks citing time wasting and violation of federal and DoD regulations.

"These actions are not only unprofessional, they reflect time taken away from designated duties, are in clear violation of federal and DoD and regulations, consume network resources and can compromise the security of the network though the introduction of malware or malicious code," Director James is quoted as saying.

A spokesperson told Bloomberg that the email was sent out because "a few people" had downloaded content from websites known to have had malware and virus issues

Director James told employees in the email that those violating the rules are risking their security clearances and would be subject to suspension and removal from service.

Honestly, I kind of want the people in charge of the Missiles to not be so stressed out. They should have a mandatory missile shake down everyday.

"What happened to North Korea?"
"Oh Billy's wife hasn't given shit up for 3 weeks and now that he can't look at porn at work so he hit the button, then went ahead and pressed his own button".

Um, Missile Defense Agency? I thought the AF still took care of ICBM's. Did they create some lame civilian agency to do it instead?
